Jess McAvoy

10 years in the Australian independent music industry and a history of flirting with musicians from a wide range of genres, Jess McAvoy tends to describe her music as being "Good Music". Often placed in the urban folk genre, Jess' performance style is generally solo armed with an acoustic guitar. Recently performing more often with a drummer and bassist, Her passion and skill are highly evident in every performance. Jess' stage presence is disarmingly honest, and incredibly personable. With 8 albums under her belt, "As the Sun Falls" was co- produced with Marty Brown, who she worked with on the acclaimed album "Into the Dark"
Accolades for this release have included "Album of the Week" in Melbourne's BEAT magazine, and Four and a half stars in The Age Entertainment Guide. Further praise has come from The Sydney Morning Herald's Bernard Zuel in the form of Four Stars.

McAvoy always seems to draw something from deep within herself, giving each song its emotive dues in a way you find difficult to believe.
